S. Anselmo was founded in the early 1900s by the
great grandfather of the present President Renzo De Checchi. Later in the 70s, the De Checchi brothers were the first in Italy to start
producing face bricks using a mould technique thus becoming an exclusive point of reference for the Italian market.
On the basis of the experience acquired in the preceding years, in 1980 the plant system was entirely renovated for maximum
flexibility and to allow for the possibility of diversifying production as regards to size and aesthetic finish.
The present production range offers over 100 different types. The factory production ha ranged through pratically all types of special pieces,
gainings vast experience and can now be considered as a real artistic laboratory. The most recent restoration activities
include the Domus Aurea in Rome, the Scrovegni Chapel in Padova and the Fenice Theatre in Venice.
The company also has a fully equipped modern technical laboratory with highly specialised staff, indicative of the care over
quality which is a strong S. Anselmo production feature; it was the first company in the sector to obtain ISO 9002 certification as long ago
as 1995.
Thanks to an important takeover plan carried out over the last three years and to its shareholding structure, S. Anselmo
and its subsidiary Companies now have more than 9 plants and can offer a complete range of clay building products for: roofing,
flooring, ventilated walls, and drawn bricks.
